Fodor's Review:

This is a hard place to land good deals, although it never hurts to check the hotel's Web site for specials: rates average $250 to $300 much of the year, but during slower weeks you can usually snag a room for around $170 to $180 (competitive in comparison with other high-end Strip properties). If it's pampering you're after, stay in the Spa Tower, which has impressive rooms and suites as well as an expanded full-service spa and salon -- suites have steam showers and soaking tubs. Rooms in the original hotel tower are super snazzy, with luxurious fabrics and Italian marble. Elegant Italian provincial furniture surrounds either a single king-size bed or two queen-size beds. Bellagio has one of the higher staff-to-guest ratios in town, which results in visibly more solicitous service than you might expect at such an enormous property. Because this is an adult-oriented resort, few of its amenities are geared toward kids.

The Casino. The casino proper is roomy, luxurious, and filled with a big-money international elite surrounded by gawking tourists. Under its hushed orange canopies you can easily spot a high roller betting $5,000 a hand as if it were pennies. But don't worry; there are games throughout the floor for the more average budget. Low-denomination slots are tucked in the back corners for low rollers (if you can find them) and excellent blackjack games are offered for mid- to high-level players.

The casino's epicenter remains its now-famous poker room, which rose to national notoriety as a key element of the TV poker fad. The race and sports book are super high-tech; each seductive leather seat is equipped with its own TV monitor. Things are a bit crowded with gawkers in the conservatory on the south end.

fav hotel in Vegas

Posted by 1traveler1 from Washington DC on 8/18/07

Rooms were a great size with a nice big bathtub. You can get a refrigerator from the front desk. Pool is very nice and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Spa is great. $40/day but has great jacuzzi and cold plunge pool and good fitness classes. It's true that there is construction all around Las Vegas but our roomed faced the Palm and we heard no noise

Grand Central Station

Posted by klaw from New York on 11/27/06

Mobbed with tourists, cheeseballs, new money and cronies. Entrances are miles from hotel elevators and expect lot's of foot traffic blocking your way, and knocking over your luggage. Beds are comfortable, rooms are less than accomodating (no internet unless you "buy" a ethernet cable), and room service is fair. For the price, I was seriously unimpressed.

Beautiful hotel at good rate

Posted by Henry from Rockville, MD on 7/30/06

We stayed at the Bellagio for 10 days in June 2006. From the speedy elevators to the cheerful pool attendants, the service was wonderful. Hearing Sara Brightman and Andrea Bocelli while the fountains did their thing was incredible. The only complaint I have was the constant smell of smoke, although the Bellagio did a much better job with ventilation than most of the hotels. Eventually, Vegas will catch up with the rest of the country and give the non-smokers a break.

Over-rated - stay at Caesars Palace!

Posted by Mel from UK on 7/9/06

Just come back from a 4 night stay at the Bellagio - v v disappointed indeed. The front desk staff were far from welcoming and felt as almost as if it was beneath them to serve us. The room was fine, the pool area was bland and unwelcoming which I was surprised at and with lots of kids. Save your money and stay at Caesars Palace - it aint worth the hype!

Bellagio is nice, but not outstanding

Posted by Shannon from Louisville, KY on 1/23/06

This was only my second trip to Vegas, so I only have our Bellagio room and our room at Caesar's Palace a few years ago to compare, but the room at Caesar's was much larger and nicer in my opinion. The service was acceptable, but there were a couple of issues that I have complaints about: (1) there is only one bank of elevators in the hotel and unless your room is near those elevators, you may have a long hike to your room from the time you get off the elevator as we did, and (2) we were warned upon checking in that if we "touched" any of the overpriced drinks/snacks in the room's mini fridge that we would be charged for them since the items are "motion sensitive." As it turned out, the fridge was packed full and there was no room to put any of our own drinks in there. It just made me feel a little unwelcome. There was a note saying we could ask Housekeeping if we wanted our own fridge, but that just seemed like too much trouble.
