Fodor's Review:

Some of the Strip's largest and plushest suites are found at this elegant, gilded resort that's a hit with foodies, shoppers, and high rollers. It's all about glitz and wow effect here, which makes it a popular property if you're celebrating a special occasion or looking for the quintessential over-the-top Vegas experience. The 700-plus-square-foot guest quarters, richly adorned in a modified Venetian style, have a sunken living room with dining table and convertible sofa, walk-in closets, separate shower and tub, three telephones (including one in the bathroom), and 27- or 36-inch TVs. The even posher Venezia Tower has a concierge floor, private entrance, fountains, and gargantuan suites with mosaic walls, vaulted ceilings, and carved marble accents. Service here, at one time a bit uneven, has improved markedly in recent years.

The Casino. The underwhelming gaming area almost seems like an afterthought compared to the more interesting peripheral elements of the Venetian. You almost get the idea the gaming is there only because people expect it to be. Still, players can benefit from the casino's "boutique" status -- in terms of its individual ownership, not sprawling acreage -- for treatment of repeat customers and high rollers. The blackjack tables in particular have very good odds for high-level players; it's hard to find a single-deck game, but the double-deck games come with the once-standard, but now rare payoffs and rules.

There's an open lounge with live music at one end of the casino and a food court not too far from that. A high-limit slot area is nestled into a subdued corner, and the player's club employs an ultrahigh-tech tracking system that enables you to comp yourself using your slot club points at any machine in the casino. The Venetian kept up with the poker craze by adding a room with more than two dozen tables in 2006.

Wonderful Venetian!

Posted by Jenn from San Francisco on 3/25/08

Wow - we had a great time at the Venetian Hotel. Our family enjoyed the roomy Bella suite with the large beautiful bathroom and the step down livingroom. Plenty of room for the 3 of us to spread out. 2 flat screen TVs - and a beautiful view from the 32nd floor. The lobby and the canal shops are a wonder - so much fun to walk around and enjoy. We dined in 2 of the many, many restaurants and enjoyed both - Aqua Knox in particular was fabulous. The Bellagio may have a better location - but the Venetian has better public areas to enjoy.

Glitz and Glam

Pictures can't describe how beautiful this hotel is. As soon as you walk in its breathtaking, everyone was incredibly nice. The catedral cealings and painting on some ceilings had me in awe. The gondola ride was cute, but not worth as much as we paid for it. The shops were great but very expensive. If you go here you must try the gourmet taffy apples at the food court. The room was HUGE and worth every penny, the decor, double doors, gold accents, and canopy bed will make you feel like royalty. The only issue was that twice when we were mid-day napping and after they had already cleaned, someone came in to do something, I was slightly annoyed. Other then that I would go back!!!

VERISIMILITUDE, VICE & VERACITY AT VENETIAN

Posted by dawnstef from Sherman Oaks, CA on 6/10/07

It is ALMOST like being in Venice. The rooms are massive, luxurious, and very comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Venetian - especially dinner at Bouchon! The casino is too big for our taste, but the rooms made the experience for us! We usually stay only at the Wynn or Bellagio - but Venetian was a wonderful change of pace!

the BEST

Posted by ZtoA from Nevada on 2/14/07

Without a doubt the best experience to be had in terms of rooms and service. The entire staff is happy to be working in the hotel and went out of their way to be courteous and efficient. The rooms are beautiful and nicer than the Belliago. The rose petal bath and extra touches made it perfect. Consider the Venezio tower and Bouchon restaurant to make a memorable romantic experience.

A pricey disspointment

Posted by SFPhil from San Francisco on 2/7/07

I booked a suite in the fancy Venezia wing, only to find that it had a parking lot view and bright lights blaring from the outside. I wanted King bed, but they blocked 2 queens; I wanted non-smoking, but ended up in a smoking room. Managers were of no use. The rooms are nice, but I will not stay where the service is this bad. For $300/night, there are better options.

Nice Hotel

Posted by JoniC from San Diego, CA on 12/4/06

The Venetian is a great place to stay, with beautiful rooms and attentive service. We usually stay at Bellagio and felt the rooms at the Venetian were nicer for a better price. Just be sure to request a view when you check in, if that is important to you. It was more important for us to be on a low floor (4th) and as a result of that request, our view was of a brick wall! But we had friends staying on a higher floor and said their view was beautiful. The hotel is massive but most are in Vegas, so pay attention to where you are going or you might get lost. We definitely will be back.

More Venetian than Venice!

Posted by Cilla_Tey from Sydney on 11/14/06

A fabulous hotel and you must stay in a Venezia Concierge suite. The service is amazing. Try not to go on a weekend as I did. If I had paid weekday rates I would have given 6 for value!
