$-$$, American, The West Side
Fodor's Review:
Come to this quirky purveyor of so-called "twisted farm food" with a gargantuan appetite and a considerable sense of humor. The spacious restaurant done up with nostalgic roadhouse accoutrements aims to please its patrons by stuffing them with heaps of savory comfort food, prepared with vaguely modern twists. A typical entrée could serve two. At breakfast, there's a savory pork tenderloin Benedict with homemade barbecue cream. Dinner faves include big o' sage-fried chicken salad, the Kokomo meat-loaf sandwich with griddled smoked mozzarella, and duck breasts with prosciutto-mashed yams, goat cheese, spicy cashews, and maple-barbecue glaze. You won't have room for the fresh-fruit cobbler, but consider maybe taking it home in a box -- it's that good.
