You can't think Vegas without thinking Bugsy Siegel. And yes, this is his ill-fated foray into Vegas real estate. But though it's massive, pink, and smack dab in the middle of the Strip, it's bland. Thankfully, the property is in the midst of a major room renovation, the first phase of which was completed early in 2007, with the rest to follow eventually. In the meantime, the elaborately landscaped complex of four pools is still one of the best and the newly redone rooms (called Flamingo Go rooms, and running about $50 to $100 more per night than standard rooms), with MP3 docking stations, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and a futuristic look, are downright stylish. Gamble elsewhere -- the casino's too plain-Jane.

What a dump!

WOW-what a dump. The only way they could "REDO" this place would be how they did the Sahara-implode it. Rooms are old and tired, decor is vintage 60's trailer park and service is just sad. Food is as sad as the rest of the experience.

At Least the Location is Good

I have stayed at the Flamingo the last two visits to Las Vegas, and have not been impressed with the room. Both times, the room needed to be updated (new carpet, furniture, etc.). I even found ants in the bathroom on the last visit, and I was on a fairly high floor. Check-in and check-out lines seem to take longer than most. On the bright side, I did have a great view of "The Strip" on my most recent trip. Hopefully, now that Harrah's has taken over the Flamingo, it will improve!
