Memorable Honeymoon Dinner..

My husband and I visited the Top of the World restaurant as our one nice meal while in Vegas on our Arizona/Vegas Nov. 2007 Honeymoon. We had reservations and arrived and although we had to wait a few minutes for the table due to the long line it was fine. We were seated at a very comfortable booth, which I loved! We ordered 2 appetizers, the Shrimp Scampi for me and the Stuffed Portabello Cap for the husband. Both were really good. We shared and Caeser Salad which was also great. My entree was the Lobster Ravioli, which I will agree with the previous post it did require a little salt but thankfully I had no problem with any shell pieces. I did enjoy the meal though. My husband had the New York Strip which was AMAZING! He has been raving about it ever since. It was cooked perfectly and literally "melted in your mouth". He ordered with that the Potatoes Au Gratin which were also very good. We skipped dessert because by that time we were stuffed. We really enjoyed out evening. The views are beautiful and the food was great :)

Amazing Atmosphere But ...

My husband and I dined at Top of the World in May 2006. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was very good. The food can only be described as incredibly disappointing. Our shrimp scampi appetizer and dessert (the Chocolate Stratosphere) were fine enough, but the entrees were not good at all. My Lobster Ravioli was dry inside and I kept biting into bits of lobster shell! The white sauce it came in was completely devoid of flavor. I covered the dish in salt to give it even a hint of interest. My husband said his New York Maitre'd steak tasted like shoe leather, and the $8 baked potato wasn't fully cooked. The prices weren't outrageous, but it still wasn't anywhere near worth the price. The atmosphere was amazing, and if you want to experience it we recommend having a drink or perhaps a dessert at the bar.
