Second Street Grill

$$-$$$$, Asian, Downtown

User Rating: ***** 4.8

Fodor's Review:

Although you find steaks, Chinese roast duck, and Mongolian rack of lamb on the menu, Pacific Rim-inspired seafood is the specialty at this underrated insider favorite. Daily specials are flown in fresh from Hawaii. For starters try the ahi sashimi or seared sea scallops. For an entrée opt for the cedar-grilled salmon, sautéed soft-shell crab, or whole Thai snapper. The art deco-style room is dark and intimate, with oversize chairs and elegant wood paneling. The service is professional but not pretentious; and, best of all, Second Street Grill is relatively unknown in the Las Vegas fine-dining firmament, so you can usually count on same-day reservations.

A true gem

With all the high prices and mediocre food in Vegas, this restaurant is a real treasure. Whole red snapper prepared beautifully and very delicious. Same was true with the 16 oz. rib eye. Entrees are in the $20.00 range including a nice salad. Our waiter was very attentive and made wonderful recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a better dinning experience.
