Pamplemousse

$$-$$$, French, East Side

User Rating: **** 4.4

Fodor's Review:

The name, which is French for "grapefruit," was chosen on a whim by the late singer -- and restaurant regular -- Bobby Darin. The dominant color at this old-school restaurant notable for its kitschy pink-glowing sign is burgundy, orchestral music is played over the stereo system, and the food is classic French. There is no printed menu; instead, the waiter recites the daily bill of fare. Specialties include roast duckling with cranberry and Chambord sauce and Norwegian salmon with orange-curry beurre blanc. The room is small and popular, so be sure to make reservations far in advance.

Excellent French meal

Hosted rather large group during a convention, with excellent results. Appetizers were perfect, especially the crab cakes and shrimp. Several had the rack of lamb for dinner and it was excellent. Chose B&G wine that was quite affordable (under $50) and everyone felt it was excellent. All in our group will return to this restaurant on our next trip to Las Vegas.
