Lillie's Noodle House

$-$$$, Chinese, Downtown

User Rating: *** 2.6

Fodor's Review:

Even as the number of high-profile Chinese restaurants has increased dramatically on the Strip, this longtime Downtown institution (formerly known as Lillie Langtry's) continues to draw crowds with its excellent, reasonably priced food. In an effort to stay current, the dining room was remade in contemporary style in 2006. The Cantonese dishes include old familiars such as moo goo gai pan and moo shu pork, plus spicier choices such as Szechuan shrimp. The black-pepper steak is a must for charcoal aficionados, and the lemon chicken is a classic. But if you'd rather, you can always go with a 22-ounce porterhouse or a 28-ounce rib eye. Don't miss the dragon-eye fruit for dessert. It's open until midnight on weekdays, and an hour later on weekends.

This place is really bad

Posted by gpc from San Diego, CA on 8/16/07

Although the atmosphere is beautiful, the food has to be the worst Asian food I have ever had. I ordered their "special" filet of sole in panko breadcrumbs. I am honestly not even sure it was sole, as it tasted like cod and had cod texture as well. It was horribly greasy and completely flavorless. The Wasabi mashed potatoes were cold. For $22 I expect something a bit better than not so great fish N chips. My husband had a noodle dish that was dry and flavorless. We will not be returning and I can't recommend this place to anyone.
