Las Vegas Hilton

$-$$$$, Paradise Road

User Rating: **** 3.9

Fodor's Review:

They can't bring back Elvis, but the Hilton is trying to regain its former prominence. The hotel woos delegates from the connected Convention Center with convenient, spacious, but uninteresting rooms. There's a lively lounge called Tempo, regular concerts by Barry Manilow, and an only-in-Las Vegas Star Trek-theme casino. A gigantic sports book seems like it could field every bet in the galaxy.

I stayed their 3 times in 3 months and found them lacking. Dirty rooms, room not ready to 4:30pm. A lack of concern by management.

Have enjoyed three times so far

Posted by Terry from Texas on 1/2/06

I've stayed at the LV Hilton three times in two months. One stay was for five nights; the others were for one and two nights respectively. All three stays were fine. Rooms very large, clean, and comfortable. One was as big as my apartment. Housekeeping very friendly and eager to please. Two of my three trips, management was able to give me "late checkout" so I didn't have to sit around the airport for hours. I didn't leave until 4pm those days, with no hassle at all. The buffet is comparable to other moderately-priced buffets in town. The Paradise Cafe is fine for a coffee shop. The Star Trek Experience is a waste of money, and this is from someone who likes Star Trek. I wish they'd spend some money to spiff up the Theatre now that they have top entertainment there. It's a little dingy and could use more exits. The elevators can be a little cantankerous, but I think it's because of renovations that are going on. Otherwise, the Hilton is a fine place to stay.
