Caesars was one of the first properties in town to create rooms so lavish that guests might actually want to spend time in them; although plenty of competitors have sprung up over the years, this expansive property with a kitschy yet sumptuous Roman theme has continued to expand and upgrade. For typically $30 to $50 more per night, you can book a Spa Deluxe Room, which has marble-and-brass bathrooms with oversize whirlpool tubs. A variety of fancier and more expensive suites are also offered, some with parlors, wet bars, and marble rotunda entryways. The expansive and opulent Augustus tower added nearly 1,000 suites in 2005, all with soaring 9-foot ceilings and a minimum of 650 square feet of space. On the tower's second floor, famed French chef Guy Savoy opened his first restaurant outside Paris. The lavish Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis -- a complex of Roman-style gardens, baths, and fitness areas anchored by the Neptune lap pool -- is one of the better pool spots in town.
The Casino. Caesars is the never-ending casino and, in recent years, one in constant transition. Two sprawling wings used to change character from one end of the property to the other, but a gradual remodeling brought most of the casino space into alignment with the faux-ancient Roman theme of the adjacent Forum Shops mall. Some of the original south casino, however, retains its 1966 intimacy, with a low ceiling and high stakes. The newer Olympic Casino wing, with its high ceiling, soaring marble columns, graceful rooftop arches, and lower limits, embraces the middle market with 5¢ and 25¢ slots. The gradual influence of Harrah's Entertainment had a positive influence on the casino's video-poker pay schedules, and Caesars ran counter to the prevailing tides when it opened a live keno lounge with hip decor and plasma TV screens to reinvent the sleepy game.
The end of the original Caesars is marked by Cleopatra's Barge, one of the last remnants from the old days, a one-of-a-kind lounge floating in an indoor pool. The Forum Casino, adjacent to the mall, was remodeled to service the Colosseum concert venue where Celine Dion performed. The gaming floor is now augmented with the Cypress Street Marketplace, a "fast casual" food court that sells dishes such as pizza and Asian noodles. The huge race and sports book was one of the first outrageously big ones and is still something to see. Wear your walking shoes and prepare to get lost in this Roman empire.

Beautiful View from Augustus Tower Room
Posted by koryn from Albany, NY on 2/1/08
Arrived at Ceasars on 1/23/08 and after asking nicely for a view of the Strip, was upgraded (at no charge) to a great room with views of the Bellagio fountains. We had booked a Deluxe Room which I gather would have been in one of the other towers, so this was a nice surprise! Room was perfect and the beds were SO COMFORTABLE! Only negative is that it's a long walk from the Augustus Tower to anything down at the Forum Shops end. All interactions with Ceasars employees were professional with the right amount of friendliness. We caught the various "talking statue" shows which aren't worth going out of your way to see. All in all, an excellent stay at a very nice hotel.

Rude Service at Airport Check-in
Posted by JerseySue from New Jersey on 3/5/07
Let me start with the bad experience first - we checked in at the airport and was greeted with a RUDE attendent ! Plus we found out that we got ripped of for the ground transportation that she sold us. We paid $14 each way - thinking that Caesars was giving us something special for staying at their hotel only to find out that if we had bought the tickets from the bus driver it would have only been $10.50 !! Then we were given the room from hell !! Seriously - this room was beyond disgusting ! Plus we were right on top of one of the clubs so our beds were vibrating from the bass. Then the toilet overflowed, plus I was there with my daughter celebrating her birthday and the bathroom didn't even have a door - I was ready to get out of that hotel. I called the front desk and happend to get a really nice person who - no questions asked - immediately told us that a bellman was on his way to move us to the "new" tower. The bellman even commented "why would they give you this room - it even stinks in here". I thought that this was how the rooms were in Caesars since it is one of the older hotels - well, to our surprise they moved us to an incredible room - this time with a view - not a wall with all the a/c units !! and a gorgeous bathroom (with a door). No smell, new beds and a flat screen TV - what I thought we would be getting for the price and what we had seen advertised. Yes - I am used to 5 star hotels and I appreciate pleasant service but I'm not a spoiled brat - but that first room should be condemmed ! I think next time will be Bellagio or Wynn for us ! I gave the low ratings because I was trying to split the good and the bad. Too bad I didn't complain the first night.

Great room!

Stayed four nights in Palace Tower. Very comfortable room. We had view of Mirage. Everything was great except gambling tables where the minimums were too high for casual gamblers. Saturday night was $50. We ended up not gambling at night which made for a cheaper stay.

Just come back from a 5 night stay in Caesars Palace. The service was fantastic, upgraded to a suite on arrival, pool is amazing, shame you have to pay $20 to use the Venus Pool but that didnt bother us. This is the second time we have stayed here and would recommend it as THE best Las Vegas hotel having tried pretty much all the rest now. Finished off the rest of our stay with 4 nights in the Bellagio - wish we hadn't changed!!! Caesars is the best by a long long way!
