$-$$, Mediterranean, Paradise Road
Fodor's Review:
A dapper, hip bistro opened by a pair of Mon Ami Gabi alumni, Firefly occupies the same shopping center as the popular Paradise Road favorites Marrakech and Yolie's. As the name suggests, the kitchen focuses on Spanish and Mediterranean small plates, none of which cost more than $10. Order a few, and you've got a meal -- try the ham-and-cheese croquettes, meatballs in a sherry-tomato sauce, marinated and grilled octopus, and ahi-tuna skewers with a mustard-ginger glaze. There are a few heartier entrées, such as steak frites and paella. For dessert, order the rich chocolate-and-cherry bread pudding with a port wine reduction. Dine in the colorful, rather compact dining room done with surrealistic designs or outside on the cheerful patio. Firefly serves until 3 am most evenings.
