$$-$$$$, American, Henderson
Fodor's Review:
In good weather, try to dine on the terrace overlooking the Florentine-inspired gardens and Lake Las Vegas at the ethereal Ritz-Carlton. The dining room is beautiful, too, and less formal than at most Ritz properties. The kitchen turns out innovative regional American fare. Start off with the classic steak tartare with black-truffle vinaigrette, or poached Hawaiian blue prawns with fennel-and-grapefruit salad and citrus oil. Among the mains, consider pan-seared diver scallops with crushed, toasted pine nuts, capers, grapes, tea-soaked raisins, and brown butter; or the dry-aged rib eye with crumbled blue cheese, sautéed spaetzle, tomato confit, and mushroom bordelaise. There's also a six-course tasting menu, available with or without wine pairings. Medici also serves a terrific breakfast, where you might sample the jumbo lump crab cakes Benedict. It's one of the best weekend brunch spreads in the city.
