Fodor's Review:
This growing chain of zero-ambience fast-food eateries serves authentic Hawaiian-style barbecue (to the sounds of cheesy piped-in Hawaiian music). One specialty is the Loco Moco, which is two fried eggs over a hamburger patty topped with gravy and accompanied by macaroni salad and rice. The plate lunch is the thing here; it comes in many permutations, but always includes macaroni salad and rice. The chicken katsu (thinly cut, breaded, and fried) is crisp; the barbecue sauce is island sweet; and there's Spam on the menu. For filling food at a bargain price, L&L is it.
