$$-$$$$, Steak, New York-New York Hotel & Casino
Fodor's Review:
This credible remake of the famed 1927 Manhattan original offers an old-school carnivores' experience inside the cleverly decorated New York-New York Casino. The walls of this convivial tavern are lined with black-and-white photos of sports stars, actors, and politicos, and the hardwood floors and tray ceilings transport guests directly to Gotham. You can admire the aged steaks in a big cooler visible from the cobblestone promenade near the entrance. The menu is refreshingly simple: pick your main dish (Colorado lamb chop, center-cut filet mignon, and so on) and then one of the four sauces (Béarnaise, brandied peppercorn, caramelized shallot, and beaujolais) to accompany it.
