Ask leading chefs to name their idol, and more than a few will cite French Laundry chef Thomas Keller, who opened this stunning, capacious French bistro and oyster bar in the Venezia Tower at the Venetian. Soaring Palladian windows, antique lighting, and painted tile lend a sophisticated take on French country design, but the service often fails to live up to the standards you'd expect. Bouchon's folded brown-paper menu opens to reveal classics like steak frites, braised pork with cabbage fondue, and mussels with white wine. Finish with profiteroles, a lemon tart, or crème caramel. Bouchon does turn out a memorable breakfast, where you might try bread pudding-style French toast or a smoked-salmon baguette. The restaurant began serving lunch in 2007.

hoped for something special

After the French Laundry, we had expected something more. Unfortunately, it was a forgettable meal. Despite reservations, we were made to wait almost 20 minutes for seating. They did good service recovery with comping drinks, but the rest of the evening made the wait not worth it. skip it for the price

Romantic Engagement Night Dinner

To my delight and surprise, my husband to be, proposed to me on bended knee on a hike in Red Rock Canyon with a 4.4 ct radiant cut diamond I had already made reservations for the evening at Bouchon, as this is my Mom's and kids favorite restaurant in Napa and we have been there MANY times over the years, since we can never get into French Laundry. I was thrilled to celebrate such a momentous event at Bouchon in Vegas. We both wanted to bawl at the service - we were treated like royalty when they heard our news. Glasses of complimentary champagne were immediately brought to the table, the fish, mussels and scallops were impeccable (my husband refuses to eat scallops anywhere else now). We were pleasantly full after our cheese course, but that wasn't all.....not one, not two, but three desserts were brought out to celebrate (also complimentary). Bouchon has superb authentic bistro fare, the best value with the absolute best service in Vegas and Napa. By the way, kid friendly is the Croque Madame - my kids beg for it everywhere we go, but nowhere else has it.

Bouchon is French for "$70 waffle". Way overpriced and overhyped. Skip it.

Phenomenal hype and accolades but poor results

After reading many comments exuding lavish praise and statements such as "best in Las Vegas","best new French restaurant", Wine Spectator awards, etc. we bypassed other highly regarded spots to try Bouchon. Upon arriving, the decor really does remind one of an authentic Parisien bistro. The white/black tile, the simple plates with the name on them, etc. is a very accurate re-creation. As opposed to other previous reviews, our service was sufficiently friendly but the food for all of our party was a uniform disappointment. Two of us had the lamb. Even for medium-rare, it was undercooked, tough and when served, it was lukewarm at best. While knowing what has happened to wine prices and markup everywhere, it was disappointing that there were only a few bottles on the entire wine list under $100. Unless you have 10 days there and really want to try Bouchon for whatever reasons, there are just too many alternatives available that most would be more pleased with.

Bouchon Was On Target

Everything from the apps to the desserts were fantastic. Service was truly fabulous; not a single waiter was snotty, but extremely helpful without being overbearing. We had a party of nine, and everyone's meal was exactly as ordered. The place was crowded but not too noisy. Even with adding on salads, the price for food was extremely reasonable for fine dining. They even let my in-laws split a salad. What drove the price up was the alcohol and imported oysters. My dad, wine aficionado, ordered three bottles of wine and a bottle of champagne for the table, and half of us had after dinner drinks as well. Overall, the meal, the ambiance, and the service were all top-notch.

for mon anniversaire, Bouchon

I was here for my birthday breakfast and couldn't have been more pleased, as I was seated right away and received great service from Ubi. I had the greatest fried eggs I have ever had in life, as well as some passable brioche and not passable potato croquettes. I didn't want to go back because it couldn't possibly be as good as the first time.
