The Mediterranean-style Ritz is all about rest, playing outdoors, and wandering around the MonteLago Village retail center. Large rooms soothe with soft gold, honey, and cream tones and huge, cushy pillows and Frette linens atop feather beds. Plush slippers and robes are provided in the bathrooms. Club Level rooms and suites bump it up a notch with a location on the Pontevecchio, which spans Lake Las Vegas.

Not for romance
Posted by ZtoA from Nevada on 2/7/07
Noisy. Clock tower starts bonging at 7 am. That might not be so bad except, business travelers in ajoining rooms apparently get "wake up" calls at 6 am, and we heard 2 of the calls as well as banging doors in early am. Maybe weekends are quieter. Also, breakfast was to be included in our rate and it was an effort to get it taken off the bill when we checked out. There are better alternatives out there for a romantic weekend in Las Vegas.

A Truly Wonderful Vacation Spot - Will Return
Posted by GolfTourist from Florida on 11/20/06
We spent 4 nights here at the end of Oct 2006 before moving over to the Strip for 3 nights. We stayed at the Ritz so that we could take a 2-day golf school at Reflection Bay Golf Club from the Golf Academy (another positive experience). Very convenient for golfers with the shuttle buses to the golf clubs. The room was wonderful, and moderately priced (less than on the strip and you get so much more). Robes, lush towels changed twice daily, lovely view of the lake and mountains, nice bathroom, WSJ and USA Today delivered daily, free in-room internet. We had afternoon tea in the lobby daily and sat on the veranda enjoying the view. Enjoyed dinner and happy hours at Sunset and Vines (restaurant in the village) just a few steps out of the Ritz back door. Everyone at the Ritz was quite pleasant and helpful. We did not take the time to enjoy the spa, but plan to do so next year when we return for 4 nights again, plus more golf school. This may be an annual trip to the Ritz. Highly recommended (warning - after this experience, very little on the Strip measures up as there are no amenities in most rooms there, and internet in room is NOT free. Best to go to the strip first, then end the week with this luxury).

Failed promises

The Lake Las Vegas Ritz has the potential to be a nice resort hotel but it will never be a must visit for the following reasons.
1. The rooms were average (accept for the bed). 2. The wait staff in the main restaurant and by the pool were sub-par 3. The village is small and takes about 10 minutes to explore 4. The restaurants in the village dont offer anything special for that special occasion you will need to go downtown 5. The casino next door is small and offers limited gaming opportunities
The hotel is a good 30 minute drive from the stripe so plan accordingly. There is nothing out at Lake Las Vegas so its the small village (a couple of shops and restaurants) and thats it.
If your happy sitting by the pool and are prepared to wait an inordinate amount of time for a drink (and even when you order it theres no guarantee youll get it), and you like to eat average food then this is the place for you. Otherwise rethink how you plan to spend your hard earned dollar.

We were disapointed when we arrived at the Ritz Carlton,to find rooms notready at 3pm or even 4pm.dispite being told that it was being cleaned at 3. after saying that I would wait at reception, untill they knew when it would be ready-another room was offered. however this room was smaller than all the hotels we had stayed in on the strip, had a stain on the carpet, and did not come with all the little extras as promised.. we actually left asking for a refund and went back to Ceasars Palace .. Tip.. forget all the tugging of forelocks on arrival and concentrate on getting things like haveing clean rooms ready by 3 pm.. Its not like I ws trying for an early checkin!. I was on my honeymoon! not good enough.
