Bellagio opened in 1998 as the city's premier luxury resort, and it remains a top getaway despite the considerable competition from upscale properties. It's still impressive more for its refined elegance than for gimmicks. The selection of restaurants is arguably the best on the Strip. Then, of course, there's the Bellagio fountain show: more than 1,000 fountains erupt in a choreographed water ballet across the man-made Bellagio lake. Walking into the lobby of Bellagio, you're confronted with a fantastic and colorful glass sculpture called Fiori di Como, by famed artist Dale Chiluly. An indoor botanical conservatory, two wedding chapels, and the Spa Tower complete the extravagant picture. One potentially off-putting aspect of Bellagio is that the casino dominates the property, and you can't really avoid it when getting from one section of the resort to another. Parents take note: no one under 18 is allowed on the property unless they are staying at the hotel.

The nonstop action by the show's acrobats, aerial gymnasts, trapeze artists, synchronized swimmers, divers, and contortionists takes place above, within, and on the water.

This Zen sanctuary has a Reflexology Pebble Walk, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, and a candlelight meditation room. Oh yeah, there's amazing treatments too.
