A low-key B&B on a quiet lane around the corner from Vineyard Haven's public library, the Greenwood House is one of the better values in town. Affable innkeepers Kathy Stinson and Larry Gomez own this homey, three-story Arts and Crafts-style cottage with classic shingle siding and a shaded yard. The rooms are decorated with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces, including brass and four-poster beds, island artwork, and functional but attractive nightstands and bureaus. It's a 10- to 15-minute walk from the ferry and even closer to many shops and restaurants. Pros: Easy walk to shops and dining, good value, personal service. Cons: Some rooms a bit small, no room phones.
