Neighborhoods / Streets, Plymouth
Fodor's Review:
Across the street from Plymouth Rock is Cole's Hill, where the company buried its dead -- at night, so the local Native Americans could not count the dwindling numbers of survivors. Just past the hill, on what was once called 1st Street, is the site of the original settlement; in 1834 the street was renamed Leyden Street in honor of the Dutch city that sheltered the Pilgrims. Look for plaques designating the locations of the original lots.
