No, this is not a fast-food hamburger joint -- it's a Cape standby with an extensive menu that favors Italian food and fried fish, from chicken piccata to a seafood platter. Wimpy's loyal clientele fills a big family dining room, a sunny atrium, and a dark traditional tavern that has cozy booths and a fine old bar. Opt for the more inventive specials, such as tortilla-crusted salmon topped in a caper sauce, or try a simple prime rib (when available). You can get takeout here, too.

we eat at wimpy's at least twice a week. there is always a welcoming reception, friendly servers, consistently good food and something for everyone on the menu. reservations are always honored. a great taste of cape cod.RATING: 4.4
