Fodor's Review:
Right at Wellfleet Harbor, this ambitious little spot has some of the freshest seafood around. There's not a whole lot of seating here -- some inside and some outside on picnic tables -- but when you've got a succulent mouthful of raw oyster or fried scallop, who cares? You can always sit along the pier and soak up the great water views while you chow down. This place serves a vast variety of seafood, plus sushi, Mexican fare (grilled-scallop burritos), linguica sausage sandwiches, and raw-bar items. There's also a selection of smoked fish, pâtés, lobster, and fish you can take home to grill yourself. Mac's also has two take-out seafood markets (open year-round) in downtown Wellfleet and Truro, and in spring 2006, they added Mac's Shack (91 Commercial St., 508/349-6333), a funky sit-down BYOB restaurant in a rambling mid-19th-century barn overlooking Duck Creek, with a lobster boat on the roof.
