$$-$$$, American, Barnstable
Fodor's Review:
For the scoop on local politics, eavesdrop at the Dolphin. A popular spot among local political figures, for decades this has been the place in town where opinions clash and deals are cut. The dark, inviting interior has a colonial feel. Lunch favorites include the shrimp-and-crab melt, rib-eye steak, and fish-and-chips. Dinner consists of a straightforward, well-prepared roster of traditional steaks, chops, and seafood grills and sautés. The small but welcoming bar is a good spot to chow down if you're dining solo.
