$$, Plymouth
Fodor's Review:
At the end of a long dirt road, this contemporary gray-shingle home overlooking the Atlantic makes a perfect hideaway. Although it's only about 10 minutes south of Plymouth center, the house feels like it's a world away. The deck, screened porch, and living room-dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows all face a wide expanse of ocean, and steps lead down the cliff to a small private beach. Inside, the theme is white -- from the leather sofas in the living room to the lace curtains and quilts in the bedrooms. Inquire about weekly rentals. Pros: Water views and beachfront location, serene surroundings, ideal for those looking for a quiet getaway. Cons: Not an in-town location.
