Fodor's Review:
B&Bs are meant to feel a bit like homes away from home -- places to feel welcome, at ease, and taken care of. All of these requirements are met at the Stone Lion Inn, a gracious mansard roof Victorian just outside the town center and a short walk away from both the harbor and the village. Rooms have queen beds, ceiling fans to encourage the breezes, hardwood floors, and a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces that balance the house's 19th-century heritage with today's decorating sensibilities. Relax amid the gardens, in the outdoor shower, or in the pretty common room. New Yorkers may recognize the subtle Brooklyn theme -- nostalgic, yet happily devoid of frenzy. Pros: Short walk from harbor and shopping, stylish yet unpretentious decor, friendly and helpful owners Cons: Need a car to get to ocean, not appropriate for younger kids.
