Dinner with Dawna was Divine

Dawna's my li'l sis and she graduated from UMD this past Memorial Day Weekend - Woo-hoo!. She invited 15 friends and relatives to celebrate her special occasion, on what turned out to be a spectacular Spring day, that afternoon at Davy's Locker. When we arrived the place was jumpin' with a few other grad parties, as well as the regulars (I live 1/2mi north and it's packed year-round). Well, everyone in the party is quite familiar with Davy's because we all grew up here in New Bedford. This does not mean our preference for Davy's is skewed. If anything, growing up on the waterfront in an ethnically diverse town means we know (and so enjoy) good food. As expected, everyone had some difficulty deciding on their dinners. I had the NY Sirloin (perfectly medium rare) w/Scallops (tender w/just a taste of the sea) and a Marguerita (swoon!). I had no room for dessert and everyone left happy...and a generous tip. * Quite easy to find: From I195 (E or W) take Route 18S (exit 15). At the end of 18S take a left at the lights on Cove STREET (squat, brick library building with flag in front to your right). Stay on Cove Street as it curves south and becomes E Rodney French BLVD. Davy's is right after the seawall/dikes, both are on your left. Don't be shy and ask for a ocean-view seat. After dinner, drive to the end of E Rodney French and take a stroll in Fort Taber Park to walk off those well-enjoyed calories.
