Fresh and ample portions of fried seafood take center stage at this casual joint, which is very popular with families. Pick from several seafood platters, or gnaw on baby back ribs or burgers if you need a break from the fruits of the sea. Several items, including corn dogs, grilled cheese (lunch only), and peanut butter and jelly, are good kid-friendly choices. Place your order at the counter and sit inside or out. Leave your mark by sticking a pin in your town's name on the big map by the order counter. Takeout is also available.

Great grilled salmon and ice cream for dessert!!

Fodor's hit this one right! Probably the best fried clams ever! My wife had salmon that was cooked to perfection. Plenty of play things for the kids too! After dinner if you have room....great ice cream too. Spotlessly clean!!!!!RATING: 4.6

the family friendly comment is right on. but if you don't have a family--or are trying to 'get away from it all' on a romantic ANYTHING--even a snack at jt's will bring you right back into the reality of small children chasing each other around the table with ice cream dripping down their arms. if this picture does not sound bad to you--they do have VERY good fried sea food. and they serve beer and wine--a definite plus for a clam shack.RATING: 3.6
