This is a great neighborhood to visit. There's history-the Old North Church and Paul Revere's House. There's drama-the sense of having fallen through the rabbit hole into a little Italian village where you are likely to be one of the few people on the street who doesn't live a block away with his or her mother. There's food-scores of great Italian restaurants serving the gamut of Italian food from the comforting red sauce to the sophisticated new edge, along with neighborhood bakeries, authentic Italian cafés, social clubs, groceries, and salumerias. All within a two block walk of the waterfront.
