$$$$, French, Back Bay
Fodor's Review:
Epic renovations to this culinary landmark have yielded an even more elaborate and formal dining room. The New England touches are still there, but the entire space now sports a Continental (and specifically French) vibe. Discreetly located on the second floor of the Four Seasons hotel, Aujourd'hui is a magnet for the city's power brokers and well-heeled travelers who cozy up to the renovated bar and lounge, which serves vodka flights in winter and tasty martinis year-round. The food reflects an inventive approach to regional ingredients and New American cuisine. Some entrées, such as roasted Maine lobster with crabmeat wontons or roast cod with brandade cakes, can be extremely rich, but the menu also offers solid "alternative cuisine." Window tables overlook the Public Garden.
