Location and price are the selling points of this 1863 redbrick row house, a five-minute walk from Copley Square and Amtrak's Back Bay station. Each room is individually decorated in shades of green, red, blue, or yellow and is accessible via the four-story main staircase; all are no-frills but are white-glove clean. Standard rooms have a discreetly placed kitchen area. The best room, with wide bay windows overlooking downtown, is on the top floor and has a working fireplace and a skylight. Pros: Lots of historic charm, good price point. Cons: Minimum two-night stays, rooms are tiny, paper-thin walls.

My wife and I just spent three nights with Doiminic, Dennis, and Al at the 82 Chandler Street B&B, and we were not disappointed. We were in the room on the top floor, and, other than the first night trying to haul our luggage up stairs, everything was just about perfect. The breakfast in the AM was on our floor, and was a great time for all of the guests to talk about their experiences from the day before, meet up with new arrivals, and talk about plans for the day. We plan onm going back to 82 Chandler Street for our next visit to Boston. The location was terrific, and the accommodations were outstanding.RATING: 5.0
