$$-$$$, Cambridge
Fodor's Review:
Businesspeople and vacationing families like the sleek, modern look and efficiency of this 26-story, high-rise hotel in Kendall Square, Cambridge's high-tech district, just steps from the subway and MIT. It's also a prime location for viewing Fourth of July fireworks. Rooms are done in the Marriott chain's signature greens, with floral spreads and drapes. A room on one of the two concierge floors nets you complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, and desserts in the lounge. Pros: Top-floor rooms have stunning skyline and river views; luxe bed linens; family-friendly; decent cost-saving packages. Cons: High-rise chain doesn't have a lot of charm, tiny pool, parking is expensive.
