Berkeley Residence YWCA Boston

$, South End

Fodor's Review:

This bare-bones facility has single ($60), double ($90), and triple ($105) rooms within walking distance of Back Bay and South End restaurants and shops. A dining room serves inexpensive meals. The Back Bay T station (which also serves Amtrak) is just three blocks away. For stays of more than a few nights, you must apply at least a week in advance. Long-term stays are $195 per week, which includes breakfast and dinner. Men, housed on a separate floor, can stay up to 13 nights; women can stay longer. Pros: Cheapest stay in town, economical long-term option for women traveling alone. Cons: Not a lot of privacy, rooms can be hot and stuffy in dog days of summer.
