This neighborhood on the north end of the Charlestown Bridge, across from the North End, is home to Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution, a tangle of masts and rigging moored at the Charlestown Navy Yard, now a National Historic Site for its long and continuous involvement in the American shipbuilding industry. Charlestown is much more gentrified than in its shipbuilding days, and the neighborhood eateries, no longer catering exclusively to "townies," have developed devoted followers citywide.
