$$-$$$, Downtown
Fodor's Review:
The clean, crisp, contemporary look of this boutique hotel is simplicity at its best. Steps from TD Banknorth Garden (forever known as Boston Garden) and an easy walk to Government Center, Faneuil Hall, and the North End, this unique nine-floor flat-iron (triangular) property offers one of the best values in town, if you don't mind tiny digs. The immaculate, minimalist rooms have honey-hue walnut furnishings, gunmetal light fixtures, marble-tiled baths, and high-end mattresses, plus flat-screen TVs, CD players, and work desks. The neutral and white-on-white color scheme adds additional serenity -- a welcome oasis from the maddening Garden crowds just outside the door. Pros: Modern, spotless rooms; great staff; lots of restaurants and bars in the area (also North Station commuter rail and T). Cons: Small guest rooms and lobby; parking garage is across the street.
