Diners seeking authentic Japanese fare need look no farther than this sushi bar-cum-restaurant. A corridor edged with river rocks and carpeted with bamboo leads to individual dining areas, which typically bustle with patrons. In Japanese fashion, you remove your shoes and sit on cushions at low tables; you can also order from the sushi bar or sake lounge. Sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, soups, and a variety of grilled and cooked dishes fill out the menu. Prix-fixe meals are also offered, prices of which vary depending on the number of appetizers, entrées, and sakes.

Spectacular Japanese Cusine at Bizen in Gt. Barrington
Posted by Luca from Romania on 3/20/06
I greatly enjoyed my dining experience at Bizen. The sushi was extremley fresh, and the vastness of the sushi menu astounded me. I also loved the tempura and teriaki dishes served there. My mother, a vegetarian, and loved the extensive vegetarian menu. The atmosphere was amazing, I forgot that I was in Great Barrington, and not in Japan! Thank you Bizen for providing my family with a wonderful dining experience!

Bizen would be a first class sushi restaurant in New York City or Los Angeles. As it stands it is the best in New England with a breadth of choice and quality that is unmatched.

Lotsa talk no walk when we dined at Bizen. You'd think California roll is about as basic as it gets, right. Well ours featured petrified avacado that was hard enough to crack teeth. ouch.
Any good chef shuld have never let this pass into his kitchen.
