"Kam" Sands is a good choice for the active traveler; there are tennis and volleyball courts to keep you in shape, and the ideal family beach (Kama'ole III) waits across the street. Eleven four-story buildings wrap around 15 acres of grassy slopes with swimming pools, a small waterfall, and BBQs. Condos are equipped with modern conveniences, but there's a relaxed, almost retro feel to the place. All units have kitchens, laundry facilities, and private lanai. The property has a 24-hour front desk and an activities desk. Attention home owners: privately owned house-trade options are available at www.kamaole-sands.com.

Fabulous south Kihei, almost Wailea location. Condos are individually owned so decor and contents vary widely, (some are second homes that the owners rent out for a few months) although most are well-stocked. Be specific when you book and if you find a nice room - request it again and post the room number online. Different agents have different rooms. Good value for money. Opposite Kam 3 Beach. Centrally located for all attractions. "older" but more authentic feel than a lot of the newer condos and certainly more roomy - 4th floor condos are two-story with a loft - nice and airy. Even the lanais vary greatly in size. 9-407 is newly decorated in bright Hawaiian theme
