$$-$$$$, West Maui
Fodor's Review:
On 10 beautiful beachfront acres -- the beach here is one of the best on the West Side for swimming and snorkeling -- the Napili Kai draws a loyal following. Hawaiian-style rooms are done in sea-foam and mauve, with rattan furniture; shoji doors open onto the lanai. The rooms closest to the beach have no air-conditioning, but ceiling fans usually suffice. "Hotel" rooms have only minirefrigerators and coffeemakers, whereas studios and suites have fully equipped kitchenettes. This is a family-friendly place, with children's programs and free classes in hula and lei-making. Packages that include a car, breakfast, and other extras are available if you stay five nights or longer.
