Forty-five minutes and a world away from the bustle of Waikiki, this sleek, 17-story resort anchors the still-developing KoOlina Resort and Marina on Oahu's leeward coastline. Honeymooners, NFL Pro Bowlers, and even local residents looking for a "neighbor island" experience without the hassle of catching a flight come to Ihilani for first-class R&R. The resort sits on one of Ko Olina's seven lagoons and features a luau cove, tennis garden, wedding chapel, yacht marina, and a Ted Robinson-designed 18-hole championship golf facility. Rooms here are spacious with 650 square feet; marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs; spacious private lanai with teak furnishings, in-room CD players; and high-tech control systems (lights, temperature controls). Most have ocean views. A rental car is pretty much a necessity here.

We have been to Ihilani Hotel many times and just love it for many reasons. It is tucked away in a quiet, serene, and beautiful resort (Ko Olina)away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The water in the four lagoons surrounding the hotel is protected and calm so it is a perfect place for kids to swim, snorkel, and play. There is a wonderful championship golf course and tennis court complex. the view from the tennis courts are amazing. How often can you play tennis and look out into the ocean? The rooms are large and well appointed. Most rooms have great ocean views. The service is excellent as well. All the restaurants in the hotel have great food and superb service. The pool is on the small side but nonetheless, clean and relaxing. You never have to look for a lounge chair, as you would at some other hotels. Nightly live music and hula shows by the pool are also a plus. If you want to go to Oahu to kick back and relax, this is definitely a hotel you want to consider. But if you want to experience nightlife, lots of shopping, people watching, etc. check out some other great hotels in Waikiki area.
