Zoos / Aquariums, Windward O'ahu
Fodor's Review:
Dolphins leap and spin, penguins frolic, and a killer whale performs impressive tricks at this marine-life attraction 15 mi from Waikiki at scenic Makapuu Point. In addition to a 300,000-gallon Hawaiian reef aquarium, there are the Pacific Whaling Museum, the Hawaiian Monk Seal Care Center, and a breeding sanctuary for Hawaii's endangered Honu sea turtle. There are several interactive activities such as a stingray encounter, an underwater photo safari, and a "Splash University" dolphin-training session. Inquire about the park's behind-the-scenes tour for a glimpse of dolphin-training areas and the seabird rehabilitation center.
