$-$$, Waikiki
Fodor's Review:
Overlooking the Ala Wai Canal, this reasonably priced boutique hotel is more residential than a typical resort, with a cobblestone driveway; a lobby with light rattan, living room-style furnishings; and a wall of French doors that open up to a gazebo garden and a tiny "two-stroke" swimming pool tucked in a backyard. You can choose from hotel rooms or studios with kitchenettes. Accommodations are compact but functional with tile flooring instead of carpets. Views from your lanai include the Canal and its canoers by day and the lights of Honolulu's skyline by night. Complimentary Continental breakfast is served in the lobby overlooking the hotel garden. It's a three-block walk to the beach.
