These unfussy retro diners offer a short course in local-style breakfasts -- rice instead of potatoes, fish or Portuguese sausage instead of bacon, steaming bowls of noodles -- with generous portions, low prices, and pronounced flavors. Breakfast is served all day.

Consistently good food & good service

Big City Diner is consistently good and delivers large portions. Entrees are classic American fare with Hawaiian style twist, but even picky eaters can find something to suit their taste.

Funky Diner with Good Food
Posted by Monica from Frederick, Maryland on 11/2/05
Tony and I dined here a couple of weeks ago with his sister and her husband. The place was packed with locals enjoying the variety of food that the diner serves. I enjoyed the pan seared salmon with fresh sauteed spinach, along with fried rice and a salad. Tony ordered the meatloaf, which he liked. We all shared some appetizers, including the calamari and steak appetizer. My sister-in-law likes this location better than the one at Ward avenue (less crowded and friendlier service).
