Time your drive along Honolulu's South Shore to allow for a stop at this relaxed lunch and dinner restaurant on Kuapa Pond. The savvy chef-manager team left a popular chain restaurant to found this "American eclectic" eatery (wok-seared moi fish, mango and guava ribs, and lots of interesting small dishes $5-$10). They're open until 11 PM Monday through Thursday and on Sunday; until midnight Friday and Saturday.

If you're planning a morning of snokleing at Hanauma Bay, this is a great place to plan to stop for lunch. Great seafood melt and pork sandwich (on taro bread) and the salmon chowder was excellent. Nice views of a quiet bay and reasonable prices (for Hawaii)RATING: 4.8
