Government Buildings, Honolulu
Fodor's Review:
This Mediterranean Renaissance-style building was constructed in 1929 and serves as the center of city government. Stroll through the shady, open-ceiling lobby with exhibits of local artists, and time your visit to coincide with one of the free concerts sometimes offered in the evening, when the building stays open late. During the winter holiday season, the Hale becomes the focal point for the annual Honolulu City Lights, a display of lighting and playful holiday scenes spread around the Honolulu Hale campus.
