$-$$$, American, Windward O'ahu
Fodor's Review:
This windward eatery offers outdoor seating and an open-air bar that shakes up a mean martini to go with its eclectic and innovative menu. (We prefer the lanai because the indoor seating, though attractive, gets very noisy.) Begin with the deep-fried kalua pig pastry triangles with a mandarin orange-plum dipping sauce. Seafood offerings include grilled mahimahi, and lemongrass-crusted scallops with a yellow Thai curry. For meat lovers, there are baby back ribs in sweet hoisin barbecue sauce. Desserts, such as the coconut-chocolate bar with vanilla gelato, are sinfully rich. There's brunch on Sunday.
