Amy B. H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden

Gardens / Arboretums, South Kona

User Rating: **** 4.0

Fodor's Review:

Often overlooked, this garden fosters a wealth of Hawaiian cultural traditions. On 12 acres grow 250 types of plants that were typical in an early Hawaiian ahupua'a, pie-shape land divisions that ran from the mountains to the sea. Call to find out about guided tours or drop in between 8:30 AM and 5 PM.

One of our favorite places

We have never taken the tour, but we never miss visiting here. We stock up on on Kona and Peaberry Coffee. An extra bonus is picking fruit and avocados from the tree for purchase. My favorite is their Chocolate covered peaberries.
