Green Palm Inn

$$-$$$, Historic District

User Rating: ***** 5.0

Fodor's Review:

This inn is a pleasing little discovery. Originally built in 1897 but renovated top to bottom, it's now a delightful B&B. The elegant furnishings of the cottage-style rooms were inspired by Savannah's British-colonial heritage. All rooms have fireplaces and a couple even have fireplaces in the bathrooms. Breakfasts are generous and served with style, and in the evening, you'll be treated to homemade desserts.

A Perfect Fit!

This is definitely one of the warmest B&Bs I have stayed in! Comfortable and cozy, beautifully decorated, and within walking distance to the downtown area. Diane made me feel so welcome that by the time I left, I almost felt like part of the family. My room exceeded my expections and the snacks and morning meals were wonderful and professionally presented. This is definitely going on my favorite list!

Home away from home

Posted by Patrick from Canton, MI on 6/14/06

My wife and I were married in Savannah, and we have decided to return there on our anniversary each year. She was raised in Georgia, and even though I am a long-time Michigander, I have fallen in love with the charming and friendly atmosphere of Savannah. As frequent visitors, we would not think of staying anywhere else but the Green Palm Inn. The Inn is located near one of Savannah's historic squares, and is within easy walking distance of River Street and Savannah's other attractions. The rooms at the Green Palm are inviting, comfortable and well appointed, and the gathering area on the main floor provides an informal atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing and interacting with the other guests. Diane, our hostess, provides an excellent breakfast each day, and there are a variety of home made snacks available in the dining room at all hours. In addition, Diane is extremely knowledgeable about the Savannah area, and can provide directions, information and tips for visiting the many attractions in the area. We feel totally at home at the Green Palm Inn, and plan to return there each year, until we finally decide to stay there permanently. In the meantime, the Green Palm Inn will be our home-away-from-home in Savannah. P.W. and C.J. Canton, MI
