Fodor's Review:
Downtown St. Petersburg got a massive infusion of vibrancy with the opening of BayWalk, a shopping, dining, and entertainment mall in a square-block complex incorporating California mission-style design and courtyard areas lined with trendy eateries, bars, shops, and a 20-screen movie theater. It's best for adults to stroll the plaza and restaurants in the afternoon and early evening, since teenagers overtake BayWalk at night. Among the restaurants at 2nd Avenue North and 2nd Street (off I-275 Exit 23A) are Dan Marino's Fine Food & Spirits; dish; Johnny Rockets, of hamburger-chain fame; and Wet Willies, a see-and-be-seen bar.
