This is an evening entertainment complex geared to adults (those under 18 are admitted if accompanied by an adult). The admission cost of $21.95 gets you into all the clubs, or you can pay $10.95 (plus tax) for entry to one club. You'll find destinations like the improv Comedy Warehouse and the richly decorated Adventurer's Club (both open to guests 18 and older) with its cast of wacky club characters. Other clubs require guests to be 21 or older. At Motion, a DJ spins hip-hop. Other clubs play rock and roll, disco, and alternative. Serious dancers shouldn't miss Mannequins, with its turntable dance floor, dramatic lighting, and sleek mannequin displays. Dancers who just want to have fun should squeeze onto the dance floor at 8Trax, where pop artists of the '70s are featured in a lava-lamp, disco-ball setting.
Pub enthusiasts can grab some upscale contemporary Irish fare, such as rack of lamb on a delicate Irish stew consommé at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant. On the "street" outside, video displays and carnival games keep the atmosphere festive as you bounce from club to club. Photo ID is required for the wristband that lets you purchase alcoholic drinks. For detailed descriptions of Pleasure Island's bars and clubs, see Chapter 16, After Dark.
