Disney's BoardWalk

Fodor's Review:

If you have fond memories of strolling along an Atlantic coast boardwalk, hearing the bumpity-bump of bicycle tires on the boards, smelling fresh-baked pizza pies, and watching lovers stroll hand-in-hand, you're in for a heaping dose of nostalgia at Disney's BoardWalk in the Epcot resort area. Even if you've never known such pleasures, it's worth a visit here to experience what you've missed. Much smaller than Downtown Disney, BoardWalk spans a portion of lakefront at the BoardWalk Inn and Villas and offers good restaurants, a sports bar, a brewpub, a dance hall, midway games, a piano bar, the Wyland Galleries, and sporadic outdoor performances.

The Flying Fish Café is known for first-rate dining and serves up signature entrées that include a potato-wrapped Florida red snapper. Spoodles is a fun family experience, with Mediterranean specialties and even a take-out pizza window. Sports fans flock to ESPN Club, where even the bathrooms have TV monitors. You can rent a bicycle for two or a cycling surrey if you want to work off some vacation calories.

A DJ runs the party nightly at the Atlantic Dance hall (no cover charge), with its spacious dance floor and waterfront balcony. At Jellyrolls, you can sing along with dueling pianos (there's a $10 cover charge. BoardWalk is the perfect place for low-key fun – you can play a few carnival games, duck into an art gallery or boutique, and enjoy a free view from the Crescent Lake bridge of IllumiNations at nearby Epcot.
