The central lounge at the extraordinary Animal Kingdom Lodge is a second-floor retreat that overlooks the Boma restaurant. The exotic feel of an obligatory safari theme extends to leather directors' chairs, native masks, and the sounds of a stream flowing past. Across the hall near the front desk, a small alcove beckons. Although no drinks are served in the sunken den called the Sunset Overlook – with artifacts and photos from 1920s safaris of Martin and Osa Johnson – it's a popular spot for late-night conversation.
