Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn

$$-$$$$, Lake Buena Vista

User Rating: **** 4.4

Fodor's Review:

The Nickelodeon theme extends everywhere, from the suites, where separate kids' rooms have bunk beds and SpongeBob wall murals, to the two giant pools built up like water parks. Kids will look forward to wake-up calls from Nickelodeon stars, character breakfasts, and live entertainment. You can choose between one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, with or without full kitchens. Pros: extremely kid-friendly; free Disney shuttle; golf course. Cons: not within walking distance of Disney or Downtown Disney; may be too frenetic for folks without kids.

Family - 2 adults and 4 teens, 2-14 & 2-17. To make this vacation affordable one kid suite was sufficient. Bang for your buck was just exactly what we got. We were just off the pool area, which meant NOISE and no day naps for the - blaring music at an empty but very nice pool area. Bus service was HORRIBLE, there were many MANY hotels on the bus route and ours was always the last one on the route. One night the park closed at 12:00 by 2:40 am, exhausted and laying in our designated parking space #159 at general parking lot at ticket and transportation center our bus appeared to take us back. Trips often exceeded an hour too and from the hotel. We gave up and drove our car. The master bedroom was roomy and nice, the second bedroom (two bunks & cot) was very cute, spongebob mural precious, living area TINY if sofa was pulled out, you had to walk over it. Waited about an hour to check in (luckily I was priority club!) Put no merit in the fact that it has a kitchenette. Too tiny and cramped to be functional. Cereal and pop tarts are about all you'll eat out of this room! Our focus was Disney, if you are not going to spend EVERY moment at Disney it would probably be a great choice. Provide your own transportation if Disney is the focus, or do your homework on the bus schedules.
